Orange Ex-Services raised almost $300,000 to buy vouchers for flood victims.

Staff from Orange Ex-Services’ Club (OESC) and a number of volunteers distributed $1000 of Gift gift cards of support to flood victims over the weekend. OESC had earlier called on club suppliers and managers to make cash donations which were used to purchase the vouchers for those who need urgent assistance in flood-devastated towns in NSW’s Central West.

“None of this would have been possible without the support and generous donations from our clubs industry!” the club said.

“It is times like this where clubs are vital… We have the capability to act as evacuation centres, manage donation hubs and most importantly bring community together!”

The CLUBS4CLUBS initiative raised a total of $292,073 after OESC reached out to the wider clubs industry. Clubs, suppliers, individuals and associations donations came from NSW, ACT, Victoria and Queensland.

Significant donations came from Campsie RSL, Club Managers Association Mid-State Zone, Shoalhaven Ex Services Group and Wests Macarthur.

The club also wanted to thank The Rotary Clubs of Orange for their efforts and also the volunteers who attended on the day. That included Jenny White, CEO of White Now, who contacted contributing clubs in her network, plus the team of Directors at OESC and CEO Tere Sheehan from Cherry Street Sports Ballina and Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group for coming all the way to Eugowra to lend a hand.
