Your Mates Brewing has given a traditional bowling club “a new lease on life” opening a venue in the Noosa hinterland town of Cooroy. The Warana-based brewing company’s second venue offers a “whole new concept to bowls clubs” with “lively entertainment, barefoot bowls, lawn games, cracking craft brews and food, all in a fun family-friendly atmosphere”.
“When bowls clubs are closing down all over the place, we’re stoked to be bringing a whole new concept to bowls clubs and giving one a new lease on life. Opening up the classic Aussie bowls club to new audiences, whilst supporting the local community and giving them a unique new entertainment experience,” founders Matt Hepburn and Christen McGarry said.
The announcement follows Your Mates’ record-breaking crowdfunding campaign that raised $2.5 million in a little over an hour, making it the largest equity raise of its type in Australian craft beer and the third-largest campaign Australia-wide in 2022.
The founders say the Your Mates BowlsPub is going to inject the sense of fun and good times into an Aussie staple.
The venue, which officially opened on January 6 will feature live music, barefoot bowls, lawn games, craft brews and food, all in a fun family-friendly atmosphere.
“Your Mates Bowls Pub is going to inject the sense of fun and good times Your Mates is known for into an Aussie staple – we’re turning the traditional bowlsy on its head and giving it a fair old shake-up,” they said.
