The State Member for Wyong, David Harris, has been appointed the NSW Minister for Gaming and Racing Harris also taking on the portfolios of Aboriginal Affairs and Treaty, Veterans, Medical Research and Minister for the NSW Central Coast.
“It’s such a huge honour that would not have been possible without the Wyong Electorate having faith in me,” Harris said of his appointment by NSW Premier Chris Minns.
“The recent election result was so amazing,” said Harris who will be sworn in on Wednesday. “I feel privileged to serve such a wonderful area with people and organisations.”
The peak NSW club body also congratulated Harris on his appointment.
“ClubsNSW congratulates The Honourable David Harris MP on his appointment as Minister for Gaming and Racing,” the statement said.
“The club industry looks forward to welcoming Minister Harris to clubs across the state and working with him and his team over the next term of Parliament.”
The father of two is a school teacher and principal by profession and has been a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly since 2015. He previously represented the represented the same electorate of Wyong from 2007 to 2011.
