Georges River Sailing Club in Sydney’s south has officially reopened its doors, after the club temporarily shut its doors for a $12 million transformation at the start of the year.
The extensive redevelopment by Alt. Hospitality Group saw the club work closely with Loucas Architects, Evolve Constructions, Hale & Co, and Empire Project Management to bring the waterfront transformation to life.
As part of the relaunch, the club has introduced Porta Dining, a modern Mediterranean restaurant featuring share-style dining and fresh local seafood. The club has also partnered with Maybe Sammy to curate signature cocktails.
The venue also features enhanced functions spaces, a renovated sports bar and lounge, as well as accessibility upgrades. Entertainment facilities also received an upgrade to host live music and DJs every weekend, plus seasonal celebrations, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Easter and Mother’s Day.
“This transformation is about creating a venue that’s proudly local, but also about creating spaces where people can enjoy themselves, experience something different, and leave with memories that last,” Alt. Hospitality Group interim Chris White said.
White said the renovation will now secure the venue’s future for another 100 years and beyond, as the club prepare to mark its centenary in 2027.
“With the sparkle of Botany Bay as our backdrop, we’ve created a place where people can gather every day of the week, from family dinners to cocktails at sunset or milestone celebrations. It’s premium without being pretentious, and we’re proud to deliver a space the whole community can enjoy,” he said.
