Wynnum Manly Leagues Club CEO Craig Thomas, who guided the club through its recent $16 million redevelopment, is set to move to Caboolture Sports Club Group.

Thomas has held the CEO role since 2014 when the club was in a precarious financial position. He has helped almost double the membership from 20,000 when he started to its current membership of 38,000, with the club now turning over a profit of $11m and employing more than 140 staff.

Wynnum Manly Leagues Club CEO Craig Thomas is moving to Caboolture.

Thomas is also a former CEO of Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club and Brothers Leagues Club Townsville, and a director of Leagues Clubs Australia.

During his tenure, Thomas not only guided Wynnum Manly Leagues Club through its redevelopment but also the major renovations at Fielders Club at Tingalpa which were completed in the middle of last year.

Thomas will leave Wynnum Manly before Christmas to join Caboolture Sports Club Group whose CEO, Kelvin Patch, retired in June after 19 years with the group.

A recruitment company is now conducting a search for the replacement of Thomas at Wynnum Manly with the aim to fill the position by early 2023.
