New Guildford Leagues CEO Brian Bellomo farewells club veteran Alan Crow.

Guildford Leagues Club has farewelled club veteran, general manager Alan Crow, who is retiring after almost 18 years at the Sydney club. Crow says he’s done “just about all of it” since starting at his first club, St George Leagues in 1992.

Alan Crow, pictured with new CEO Brian Bellomo, will spend more time with his wife and grandkids, and driving a community bus.

Brian Bellomo, former Penrith RSL Executive Manager – Club Operations, starts in the new  CEO role at Guildford on 19 September.

The unassuming Crow has not only helped his present club survive Covid but sees light at the end of the tunnel for a venue that sits on council land.

With the current lease expiring in 2035, Crow has still managed to complete internal renovations, including Guilly’s Restaurant, a cafe and bar, and be in the position to pay off club loans six years ahead of schedule despite Covid.

“In my opinion, it was a blessing in disguise because when we were closed, we had the time to rethink and re-evaluate and restart,” he says.

In his new spare time, Crow will drive the local community bus and spend more time with his wife and grandkids.
