Doxa Community Club has promoted its chief operating officer Anthony Simioni to group general manager.

Simioni joined the club in 2017 as group marketing manager before moving into the COO role in 2021, where he strengthened the group’s compliance frameworks and helped position the club for long-term success.

Prior to joining, Simioni has worked across gaming, bars, and retail since 2009, including opening new venues, lead marketing and HR departments, implement gaming and loyalty programs, and oversee operations at various pubs and clubs.

“Anthony’s passion for hospitality and community impact aligns perfectly with Doxa Community Club’s mission,” Doxa Community Club chair Peter Hogan said.

“We look forward to seeing the club grow under his leadership while maintaining its strong commitment to supporting the Doxa Youth Foundation.”

In his new role, Simioni will be focused on ensuring the organisation continues to offer a strong entertainment and gaming experience, while maintaining its reputation as a responsible club. Most recently, Simioni oversaw the opening of the club’s newest venue, Miss Gunn’s at Clocks at Flinders Street Station.

“Doxa Community Club is a unique organisation, combining a strong hospitality offering with a purpose driven mission,” he said.

“As we navigate a changing industry, my focus is on ensuring we remain competitive by delivering great experiences for our members, maintaining a responsible gaming environment, and operating as efficiently as possible.”

Additionally, he is committed to fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring that every team member feels valued and supported.

“Fostering a workplace where our team feels valued and motivated is essential,” Simioni said.

“I am honoured to lead Doxa Community Club into its next chapter and build on the strong foundation we’ve created together.”
