Clubs NSW CEO Josh Landis has been sacked by the board in the wake of an apology to NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet.

ClubsNSW boss Josh Landis has been sacked over inflammatory comments he made over the religious beliefs of NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet. In a statement from the Board, which is headed by Chairman George Peponis, ClubsNSW said it met today to discuss the comments made by CEO Josh Landis which referred to the religious beliefs of NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet.

“After careful consideration, the Board has made the decision to end Mr Landis’ employment with ClubsNSW with immediate effect,” the statement said.

“The Board acknowledges Josh Landis’ exemplary service to the industry over more than 15 years through some very difficult times. We genuinely wish him all the best on his future endeavours.”

The Board said it will consider its next steps and has no further comment at this point in time.

The dismissal comes after a tumultuous two weeks for the ClubsNSW CEO who has been battling everyone from the Alliance for Gambling Reform to the Labor Opposition and minor parties and the move by the Perrottet Government to introduce cashless gaming cards into clubs.

He apologised to the Premier in a statement this morning over the comments.

More to come.
