After five long years, Club Marconi has been successful in obtaining DA approval for a state-of-the-art resort-style Independent Living Units (ILUs) in Sydney’s southwest. The decision to embark on creating 93 ILU’s forms part of the club’s 20-year strategic plan at their Bossley Park site.

Club Marconi sits on 12.5ha of parkland and playing fields at Bossley Park and has more than 25,000 members representing 18 nationalities and over 24 different languages, plus more than 200 staff.

“Club Marconi’s decision to embark upon the 93-resort style Independent Living Units development forms part of the Club’s 20-year strategic plan,” said Club Marconi’s CEO, Matthew Biviano. “Approximately five years ago it was highlighted in a specialist market research report that there was a shortfall of over 400 Independent Living Units in our primary and secondary catchment areas.

“As such, Club Marconi wants to continue their historical positive contribution in the community and assist in providing a vibrant, recreational and entertainment destination for our ageing population in the South West Sydney Region.”

The approved DA includes 52 two-bedroom apartments, 23 two-and-a-half bedroom apartments, 17 three-bedroom apartments and 1 three-bedroom apartment of 150sqm.

The approved DA also includes a new two-level undercover carpark with 637 spaces for  members with vertical lift access. There is also 125 secure parking for seniors with separate lift access to their individual apartment floors. The proposal will also house a restaurant, allied health services.

The proposal also includes extensive landscaping to the frontage of the club site on the corner of Prairie Vale Road and Restwell Road.
