Carina Leagues Club has hit a major milestone of its $16 million renovation project with unveiling its 200-person function centre.

The space, which is the only large-scale function centre in Carina, was 12 months in the making and features a luxe modern design features, and multiple menu and seating arrangement options to cater for all events and entertainment at the club.

Known as the Wade Core function centre, a tribute to current chairman and long-time club identity, Wade Core, the centre can be used a multitude of events, from wedding receptions to charity galas.

“At full capacity, you can expect to sit 200+ people in here, but if you’re hosting a small, intimate event, we can split the room into smaller sizes,” Core said.

“It was important to us that this space was available to everyone. We didn’t want to just have a space for gala balls, but also for charity group meetings, corporate breakfasts and networking mixers as well.”

During opening week, the Wade Core Function Centre held three major events, including the inaugural Women in Sport Awards that harnesses and celebrates the best in local female sporting talent.

The opening of the function centre wraps up phase one of the renovation project, which also included the opening of Dine. Restaurant and Arties Bar, which was named after one of the club’s founding members, Arthur Hingst.

At the heart of Arties Bar is a 360-degree bar, offering patrons 64 different beverages on tap, as well as share plates and wood-fired pizzas.

At the centre of Arties Bar is a 360-degree bar serving a huge selection of drinks.

Like Arties Bar, Dine. Restaurant offers wood-fired pizzas, alongside bistro classics including a selection of steaks, chicken parmy, and fisherman’s basket.

“The opening of Arties Bar is just part of our step up from the traditional ‘club’ food of a humble sausage roll or our famous chicken parmy, which is still very much available and well-loved! But Arties – and Dine. Restaurant – opens up the door to a new group of patrons who we’re excited to welcome to the club,” Adam Wiencke, Carina Leagues Club general manager, said.

“Arties is the perfect place for a Friday night drink with friends, or a celebratory catch up, or a pre-date night drink. We are already seeing new people come into the Club and we hope this will continue with the new dining and entertainment venues and future renovations we have planned for next year.”

“Since we opened Arties Bar, Dine., our new Evergreen Gaming Lounge and the Wade Core Function Centre a few short weeks ago, we’ve had an amazing response from our current members and new patrons. Everyone is loving the modern feel of the renovations and having more choice for dining and entertainment.”
