The complete refurbishment of Arana Leagues Club’s new cafe and gaming room in Keperra is well underway.
Work started on the Brisbane club in August, with a range of new and improved facilities soon to open for members and guests.
The full list of the renovations includes a new modern café, increased seating across dining areas and a more spacious and comfortable gaming lounge. A pop-up café on level one has been serving coffee, cake and a limited range of menu items in the interim.
The stage and dance floor area have also closed temporarily as the club has expanded its Kick Bar & Grill dining area into the space.
With a design by BSPN Architecture and a build by Ashley Cooper Construction, the plan will also see the expansion and refurbishment of the existing undercover outdoor lounge and alfresco dining areas.
Located next to its main playing field, an extension of the first floor will include a mezzanine level enclosed by glass walls.
The works also include a proposed car park and façade facelift to not only provide architectural interest but to reduce the bulk and scale of the proposal.
The frontage will feature improved pedestrian access to the clubhouse via a new entrance plaza and drop-off facility.
“The proposal will create an aesthetically pleasing façade with a high architectural quality design that will create an appropriate subtropical climactic response for the site,” planners Bartley Burns stated.
“The articulation of the built form will reduce the apparent bulk and scale of the building. Overall, the building will incorporate an interesting, but consistent exterior, which will not conflict with surrounding residential uses”.
