Curlewis Golf Club's new clubhouse.

Overview:

Privately-owned Sharp Group unveils $20m Curlewis Golf Clubhouse outside Geelong.

The Sharp Group has unveiled its $20 million Curlewis Clubhouse and accommodation, a project four years in the making. The golf course, just an hour from Melbourne and 15 minutes from Geelong, is privately run by co-owners and directors Lyndsay and David Sharp.

Lyndsay said there was a desperate need for accommodation in the region and it was a logical progression for Curlewis.

It also made sense from a destination golf club perspective as they hoped the accommodation facility will play a small role in helping to attract visitors to the region and then keeping them here to see, do, explore and experience all the “magical little region” has to offer.

Hospitality venues include the casual Ivor’s Spike Bar named after club member Ivor Chappell, and signature restaurant and function facility, the Claribeaux. There is also a “next level” pro shop.

The Clubhouse entry concourse features six limited-edition signed prints by 1960s pop artist Andy Warhol while accommodation includes 60 eco-suites with paintings by local artist Eleanor Millard.
