Wests Macarthur is soon to open The Sherwood, a new type of venue for the group on the site of the former Wests Tennis Club site in Leumeah. Backing onto the main venue, and adjacent to Campbelltown Sports Stadium, The Sherwood is a bid to attract a new audience to the club group.
The old tennis club was demolished in 2021 with the new build currently being completed by James Clifford Construction, which is set to deliver the revamp in the coming months.
Many of the details about what the new venue will bring to the area are still under wraps.
“This awesome new venue, offering something completely new, promises to become the hottest new entertainment destination in the Macarthur region,” the club has said.
“Boasting a bright and modern layout, as well as an extensive outdoor area this will be the place to be in Macarthur. The hottest new venue in Macarthur is coming soon!”
The Sherwood is a subtle reference to one of the oldest suburbs in Campbelltown, Sherwood Hills.
The group also counts Country Club Gledswood and Hills Lakeside Golf Club, Camden among its other venues.
