North Lakes Sports Club, north of Brisbane, has officially launched its new $2.8 million refurbishment, which includes Nasi and Mie Modern Asian restaurant, the Boutique Lounge with LED wall, Atonik Spirit Bar and the expansive Sports Bar and Deck, as well as an ice creamery station.
“These beautiful spaces were imagined and designed by the very talented team at BSPN Architecture, they were built by the hard-working team at Ashley Cooper Construction and a lot of hard work was put in by the operational team behind the scenes,” the club said.
The event was attended by Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Peter Flannery, Councillor Yvonne Barlow, Chris Whiting and Clubs Queensland CEO Craig Harley.
Since opening in 2017 as the first Queensland greenfield community club in 20 years, North Lakes Sports Club has gone from strength to strength, culminating in winning Club of the Year (Grand Category) at the 2022 Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence, Craig said.
At the launch last Wednesday, local politicians, industry peers and Caboolture Sports Group board members and staff also said farewell to retiring Caboolture Sports Club Group CEO Kelvin Patch.
Kelvin held the position for 19 years and attended his 229th and final CSG board meeting last Wednesday.
“On behalf of Clubs Queensland and the club industry, thanks for your vision, integrity, willingness to share your knowledge and for your humility,” Craig said. “Wishing you all the best in your retirement.”
