A once-blank car park wall at Seven Hills RSL has been transformed into a powerful tribute to Australia’s service personnel, thanks to a new mural by a local graffiti artist.
General Manager Joe Bayssari said the idea came to him while looking for ways to make better use of the space.
“The project started when I was looking at our blank car park wall and was thinking of what to do there. A couple of days later while walking through our memorabilia area, I started thinking it would be cool to paint the car park wall to honour our service personnel,” he said.
Following thorough research for artists, Bayssari chose five artists, gave each of them a brief, and awarded the contract to Paul Zoeller of Western Sydney Murals.
“His design embodies the conflicts that Australia was involved in,” he said.
“We have had overwhelming positive comments from our members and guests. Once Paul is finished, we will have a mural that we can all be proud of.”
