Club Marconi has reopened the former C.S.I. Sport and Recreation Club as CSI Marconi in Schofields, north-west Sydney. After a brief closure for minor refurbishment, the re-opening of CSI Marconi took place on Saturday and included the official cutting of the ribbon followed by free entertainment for the kids, plus food stalls and live entertainment.
“The Management and Board are proud to continue expanding our facility and membership into the future to be the largest Italian Heritage Sports & Recreation Club in Australia,” said Club Marconi’s CEO, Matthew Biviano. “Both clubs have strong similarities in their constitutional objectives concerning the preservation of the Italian language, traditions and culture.
“As such, the amalgamation is a good cultural fit for Club Marconi and will allow for the perpetuation of the Italian culture and heritage to prosper in the Blacktown, Schofields, Rouse Hill, Marsden Park, and wider north-west Sydney community.”
The clubs amalgamated in December 2022, marking a significant occasion for the Club Marconi group’s property portfolio, which brings the number of sites in the group to three.
Both Club Marconi and CSI have a history of being Italian recreational centres that bring the community together with bocce and soccer.
