Castle Hill RSL Group (CHRG) has revised its master plan for its residential lifestyle community for over-55’s.
The club received formal approval to build the over-55’s residential lifestyle community on site, from the Hills Shire Council, when it submitted its original development application in 2018.
However, CHRG told Club Management since the approval six years ago, the needs of the community have evolved.
“Design aspirations have evolved along with the lifestyle expectations residents hold for ‘third age’ community living. As a Group, we have monitored these changes and expectations, which have driven the design amendments proposed,” a spokesperson said.
The new plans show the internal designs of the apartments have been amended to improve the interior spaces and the access to private outdoor balcony areas – reflecting market research and focus group feedback.
The updated design also features a piazza, which the club describes will be a heavily landscaped space that links the three facilities and provides the opportunity for residents, club members, and members of the Sports and Aquatic Centre to engage and interact.
CHRG has also submitted a development application for a multi-level car park, which is with the Hills Shire Council for approval.
Under the DA, the club’s existing ground floor parking will be replaced by a multi-level club members car park that boasts a design with significant green space. It will house 862 parking spaces, with around 700 undercover bays, and will be situated at the front of Castle Hill RSL Club.
“The proposed changes put forward by CHRG for approval by the Hill Shire Council have been designed to improve the overall integration for the three core customer groups that use the site – club members, residents, and fitness members, and improve amenities for the whole community,” the spokesperson added.
Construction of the residential lifestyle community is expected to commence in early 2026.
