Queensland’s newest greenfields club, The Bower Tree, has opened its doors at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast, six years after the concept was first floated. The Bower Tree offering, part of the Boldbridge Group which also includes Nambour RSL Club, will provide locals and visitors with a stylish, contemporary and inviting place to gather, the group says.
While the completion of construction was due in 2020, Covid shutdowns put the plans on hold. Since the resumption of the build by Paynters and a design by KP Architects, more than 1000 workers on site have helped pour more than 5000 cubic metres of concrete, used 150-plus tonnes of structural steel and laid 80,000 bricks in the construction of the venue.
The Bower Tree now offers five dining experiences, four beverage outlets, function facilities, kids’ and youth room and a gaming lounge.
The F&B options, serviced by four kitchens, include Cafe Rubia, Vine Wine Bar, Arrows Bistro and a pizzeria while the modern gaming lounge features a modern design, with the latest machines, luxurious seating, wider aisles, shorter machine banks and a layout that provides greater player privacy.
“It is hard to believe that just over four years ago we finally found a parcel of land that would be the future site of the Sunshine Coast’s newest community club,” Boldbridge CEO Suzanne Long said of the opening.
“Today, the dream became reality, this incredible building took shape, and The Bower Tree is alive. With destinations being created under the ‘Bower’, our haven of happiness opened its doors on 3rd of April 2023 for everyone to enjoy.”
“I love the fact that after six years, an idea and a dream has come to life, through the support of the community and the Board of the Boldbridge Group, the key was turned, and the doors opened.”
