The flood-damaged Goodna Services Club in Brisbane’s western corridor has reopened as Club Parkview. The new build has been welcomed by members and guests after the club brought forward an existing planned renovation following damage from the devastating floods of February 2022.
“We are breaking records every week, so it’s good news for us,” says Club Parkview General Manager Adam Wiencke. “You know when a good renovation has landed when people are sitting in every corner of the club. They are everywhere.”
The flood destroyed several hundred EGMs, kitchen equipment, most electricals, carpet and other fixtures and fittings when water rose to 1.7 metres on the second level of the club east of Ipswich.
The reinvigorated space, designed by Altis Architects and completed by builder Unita, is now home to the Parkview Kitchen, Parkview Bistro, Parkview Tap House and the Jacaranda Cafe. Add to that a modern gaming lounge, open-plan events spaces and kids’ play area.
The club now serves up to 400 meals a night, up from pre-flood figures of 50-60.
The average membership age has also dropped as a result of the refit: pre-flood, it was 68 now its closer to 40, says Wiencke.
The club has now submitted plans to council for a two-storey carpark across the road, potentially linked to the club by a footbridge, with a deck area on the existing carpark also in the works.

We visited from Toowoomba for the first time last night . Reno’s are beautiful and very spacious layout. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the menu . Most meals except for pizza are served with chips and salad. Whatever happened to hot roast and vegetables? I left and went to take away and got hot chicken and veges and gravy.
